Services Details

Offshore Support Vessels Services

This company provides global coverage for all types of offshore support vessels (OSVs), with expert shipbrokers in all global markets.

Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) are specialized ships that are built to withstand harsh marine environments, rough seas and strong currents and are used to provide logistical and operational support for offshore oil and gas exploration, production, and other maritime activities. They are also used for anchor handling, towing, and subsea installation support.

Types of OSVs

Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) - Used for transporting supplies to and from offshore platforms.

Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) Vessels - Used for towing, anchor handling and positioning of offshore structures.

ROV Support Vessels - Used to facilitate the operations of remotely operated vehicles for subsea inspections and maintenance.

Cable Laying Vessels - Used for laying and burying underwater cables for telecommunications or power transmission.

Wind Turbine Installation Vessels (WTIVs) - These are specialized vessels for installing and maintaining offshore wind turbines.

Subsea Vessels Services

This company also provides coverage for these underwater operations machines. Their specialists working across all main global markets including NSEA, APAC, West Africa, United States and Brazil.

These specialized ships designed for operations in the offshore oil and gas, renewable energy, and other subsea industries including various types, each with its unique capabilities, such as anchor handling, construction, diving support, ROV support, Cable laying and Pipelaying.

Some Types of Subsea Vessels

Diving Support Vessels (DSV) - These are equipped with facilities to support diving operations, including saturation diving systems, decompression chambers and Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS). They are used for underwater inspections, repairs and construction.

Seismic Support Vessels - These vessels are used for collecting seismic data, which is crucial for oil and gas exploration. They tow streamers and air guns to gather data about the subsurface geology.

Multipurpose Support Vessels (MPSV) - These vessels offer a range of services including construction, maintenance and ROV support, making them versatile for various subsea operations.

Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Vessels - FPSOs are used to process and store oil and gas produced from subsea wells, then offload the product to shuttle tankers for transport to shore.

Offshore Construction Vessels (OCV) - These vessels are designed for a wide range of offshore construction activities including pipelaying, heavy lifting and installation of subsea structures.

Offshore Rigs

This company has a track record with global yards and major drilling companies with an indepth knowledge and an extensive network ensuring their offshore rig team are leading brokers in the sector and they offer technical and commercial advice to help grow your fleet.

They deliver a full service global coverage from intelligence and strategic advisory to chartering and new building, serving a range a clients from large drilling operators to investors joining the market. Their industry insigts allows them to match oil clients' needs with drilling clients' available rigs.

Because of their expert advisory and market intelligence, they have strong global shipyard relationships serving a wide range of clients while specialising in single or fleetwide Sale & Purchase, M & A, new-building and sale & leaseback transactions.

Types of Offshore Rigs

Categories include:- Fixed Platforms, Floating Rigs (including semi-submersibles and drillships), and Jack-Up Rigs.

These rigs are designed to operate in various water depths and enviromental conditions. They are selected based on factors such as Depth, Seabed conditions, Environment Conditions and Specific Drilling Requirements.

Details

Fixed Platforms

- Structure: - These rigs are permanently attached to the seabed, typically in shallow water.

- Components: - They consist of steel or concrete substructure that supports the drilling and production equipment and living quarters.

Suitability: - Ideal for areas with relatively stable seafloor and moderate water depths.

Floating Rigs

- Types: - Semi-Submersibles and Drillships.

- Semi-Submersibles: - These rigs float on pontoons or columns and are kept in place by anchors or dynamic positioning systems.

- Drillships: - Ship-shaped vessels designed for drilling in deeper waters. They use dynamic positioning systems to maintain their location.

- Advantages: - Can operate in deeper waters and are more mobile than fixed platforms.

Jack-Up Rigs

- Structure: - Jack-up rigs have a floating hull and legs that can extend to the seabed, jacking up the platform up above the water surface.

- Suitability: - Primarily used in shallow to moderate water depths.

- Mobility: - Can be moved to different drilling locations by raising their legs and towing them.

Other Types

- Compliant Towers: - Flexible structures used in deeper waters where traditional fixed platforms are not suitable.

- Spar Platforms: - Deep water structures with cylindrical hull that extends deep into the water.

- Tension Leg Platforms (TLP): - Floating platforms that are anchored to the seabed by tensioned tendons

Offshore Field Development

This company is a leading broker of the offshore field development backed by rich market intelligence, specialisation in Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Vessels, Floating Storage and Offloading (FSOs) units, Floating Production Units (FPUs), Newbuilding and Conversion as well as Financing transactions.

This company operates over 300 floating platforms for offshore field developments around the world and are able to provide project specific services including excellent experience with Chartering, Sale & Purchase and Newbuild transactions for some of the industry's key global players.

Details of FPSOs, FSOs and FPUs

FPSOs - These are specialized floating platforms that process, store and offload hydrocarbons (Crude Oil and Natural Gas) from offshore reservoirs. They are essentially mobile, floating facilities that combine processing and storage capabilities, eliminating the need for separate platforms and pipelines to shore. It is essentially a mobile, self-contained offshore production facility.

FSOs - These vessels are used to store and offload crude oil or gas that has been extracted from offshore production facilities. They are essentially large floating storage tanks that receive hydrocarbons from other offshore platforms and then transfer the stored product to shuttle tankers for further transport.
Unlike FPSOs, FSOs do not have onboard processing capabilities for hydrocarbons. They are useful in remote or deepwater locations where pipelines to shore are expensive.

FPUs - These are floating vessels designed to process and potentially store hydrocarbons extract from subsea reservoirs. They are crucial for deepwater oil and gas field development, especially in remote locations where traditional infrastructure is impractical.
FPUs are used to separate oil, gas and water from the produced fluids and may also include storage capabilities.
FPUs can cover FPSOs and FSOs.

Key Component: -

- Topsides - The area that houses the processing equipment for separation, treatment and potential storage.
- Risers & Pipelines - These connect the FPU to the subsea wells, bringing the produced fluids to the surface.
- Mooring System - This system secures the FPU to the seabed, often using anchors, chains and wires.

Applications: -

- Deepwater and Remote Fields - Where traditional fixed plartforms are not feasible or cost-effective.
- Fields with Limited Infrastructure - When connecting to onshore facilities is challenging.

Advantages: -

- Flexibility - FPUs can be relocated to different fields as needed.
- Reduced Infrastructured Cost - They can reduce the need for extensive subsea pipelines and onshore facilities.
- Shorter Time To First Oil - Redeploying FPUs can significantly shorten the time it takes to start production.

Challenges: -

- Harsh Environment - FPUs must be designed to withstand challenging weather and ocean conditions.
- Integration with Subsea Infrastructure - Connecting the FPU to subsea wells and pipelines can be complex.
- Cost of Conversion or Newbuild - Cost of FPUs can vary greatly depending on whether they are newbuilds or conversions of existing vessels.
